About Pony Rides
If your kids are not quite old enough to take a full trail ride, take them for a pony ride. Most outfitters will let an adult lead a pony on a halter, while your small child sits on top as the horse walks around in a small, safe area. Most stables have treats available for the ponies for a nominal fee or donation. These extra monies go to horse treats like carrots and apples.

Pony rides are a fun option to full trail rides for little kids or those children who may be frightened of big horses. You can lead your child on a pony with a halter. Children get the feel of sitting on top a pony. Most stables have treats that you can feed the ponies so children can learn how to interact with horses while on the ground and gain confidence by taking a quick ride with Mom or Dad right by their side.
